Our teeth tingle and the tone itself creates a frequency that adversely affects the rate of vibration in the cells of the body experiencing it. This grating noise produces physical changes in anyone who hears it. Consider the scraping of nails against a chalkboard. Let me quote a simple example to demonstrate the physical effect of vibrating energy. When our frequencies resonate in sync, we are healthy. The balanced interaction of all the frequencies resonating in and through our bodies is what makes us work. This wave vibrates at its own frequency, which affects everything in its path. If there is one agency under the sun that can make man forget all his worldly ties, his feelings, passion, sorrow and diseases, it is MUSIC and MUSIC alone. It appeals to every being right from inanimate objects to consciousness-transfigured Yogis. This is because one would need some preparation and training to appreciate and enjoy all other art forms But, Music is for all. I am sure that the number of music lovers across the globe would comfortably outnumber the lovers of other art forms. But still, in its effect and influence on the human mind, it is more universal. It originates as an invisible sound, lingers in the air for the barest fraction of a moment and disappears into ether without leaving any tangible trace of evidence for verification. These forms can be seen, inspected and even corrected for sustained periods of time. Paintings, Sculpture, Literature etc have the advantage of being able to appeal to the human mind through the eye, which is considered to be a more satisfactory sense than the ear. There are various features that distinguish, dignify and exalt the art of music over all other art forms. Art in general and MUSIC in particular is known to have the power to build these softer intelligences. Thus, both in work and personal life, we meet success only if we supplement our cognition, analytical/hard skills with subtler intelligences. We realize that we need softer skills to handle ambiguity, people and broader responsibilities.
